AI trade finance software automates the document-heavy workflows in trade finance — specifically, checking that documents presented under a Letter of Credit (LC) conform to the LC terms and comply with UCP 600 rules. Traditional LC document checking is done manually by experienced trade finance checkers, taking 2–4 hours per presentation. AI trade finance software reads the document set, extracts data from each document, applies UCP 600 rules, and generates a structured discrepancy report — reducing checking time to 15–25 minutes. XPndAI builds custom trade finance AI systems for banks, export companies, and corporate treasury teams.
UCP 600 (Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, ICC 2007) defines the rules that govern how banks examine documents presented under a Letter of Credit. XPndAI's trade finance AI applies the key articles systematically: Article 14 (standard for examination — 5 banking day rule, conflicting data), Article 18 (commercial invoice — amount, currency, goods description), Article 20 (bill of lading — port match, date, endorsement, claused BL), Article 28 (insurance — coverage, currency, endorsement), and all special conditions stated in the LC. Each article check produces a pass/warning/fail result with the LC requirement and the document finding stated — which the human checker reviews.
XPndAI's trade finance AI supports: Letter of Credit (SWIFT MT 700, 710, 720), commercial invoice, full set bill of lading (ocean and air), multimodal transport document, packing list, certificate of origin (all issuing authorities), health/phytosanitary certificate, inspection certificate, insurance policy/certificate, GSP/preference certificate, pre-shipment inspection certificate, and standby LC (ISP98). For India-specific trade: DGFT export licence, ECGC insurance certificate, and Authorized Dealer (AD) Code documents. For UAE: UAE Customs import declaration, Dubai Chamber certificate of origin, and Jebel Ali port documentation.
Yes. Trade finance AI software is used at both ends of the trade transaction. For exporters: check your document set against the LC terms before submission to the bank — catch discrepancies before the bank does. For importer's bank (issuing bank): check the document set presented by the exporter's bank against the issued LC. For importer's trade team: verify shipping documents against purchase order and goods description. For corporate treasury: automate the document review workflow for all inbound trade transactions. XPndAI builds for all four use cases — the same core extraction and UCP 600 engine is used, with different workflow configuration.
Send 10 sample LC presentations (anonymised). We review and give you a fixed-price proposal within 5 days.
